Fungenband expansion joints are high density PVC profiles, formulated to exhibit excellent characteristics of flexibility and durability. They are used in the construction of irrigation canals, dams, galleries, water reservoirs (in all types of works that require watertightness).

Expansion joints may be secured with special clamps or stirrups and anchored to the armatures or shapes, provided that the profile is maintained in the intended position without displacement.

The expansion joints have a hollow bulb capable of absorbing the movements of the expansion joints in the traction, compression and shear. The flaps allow a perfect contact with the concrete, making it difficult to percolate with water. Nests and failures together the flaps should be avoided, if necessary, reducing the maximum aggregate size of the concrete next to the profile.
